About The Book
MUNCHKINS BEYOND OZ - 85 YEARS LATER
The stage of my book’s story is set 85 years after the death of the two Wicked Witches in the 1939 “WIZARD OF OZ” MOVIE,the Wicked Witch of the East and the Wicked Witch of the West. The reader is introduced into a celebratory atmosphere commemorating Dorothy Gale’s heroic deeds eighty-five years earlier. Munchkin King Jerry, “The Lollipop Kid” is a central figure recounting the events of Dorothy’s triumph over the Wicked Witches.
Instead of joining Munchkinville’s joyous festivities, a group five Munchkin teenagers decide to sneak out of town for a night fishing trip. This begins the contrast between their youthful adventure and the potential threat looming over the town of Munchkinville.
By introducing both the historical figure King Jerry and the new characters like the teenage Munchkins, the diverse cast further sets the stage for future avenues of excitement. The mention of the threat of “Warlock Dan”, aka the Wicked Witches’ Brother, adds suspense and foreshadows the conflict that will drive the book’s narrative forward.
When the Munchkin teenagers return home from their fishing trip, they witness an unfolding chaos in Munchkinville as the Warlock’s Army lay siege and destroy their town and cast a sinister spell on the Munchkin inhabitants, turning them all into stone statues.
Glenda, the Good Witch, is the sole survivor. With tears in her eyes, she informs the teenagers that in order to reverse the Warlock’s evil magical spell, they must retrieve his golden medallion that he wears around his neck.
The quest for revenge begins. Each subsequent chapter introduces key plot elements and characters, setting the stage for an exciting adventure of finding Warlock Dan and his Magical Medallion.
